An Overview
Those interested in publishing with Wahrheit & Vernunft under one of our imprints must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Must fully affirm and corporately agree without reservation with our doctrinal stance as outlined in our Statement of Faith
- Must freely commit to upholding our Convent during your partnership with Wahrheit & Vernunft
- Must agree to dissolve our publishing partnership if you decide to diverge from our convictions as stated and defined in our Statement of Faith as a matter of Christian conscience
- Must adhere to these guidelines and those detailed in the Author Standards outlined in Wahrheit & Vernunft’s Publishing Agreement
Wahrheit & Vernunft provides and maintains high standards of quality and conservative, evangelical, Reformed Christian theology. By entering into an Agreement with us, the Author acknowledges compliance and familiarity with our standards as a Christian publisher.
Wahrheit & Vernunft holds complete and sole discretion in determining objectionable content. General categories include material that:
- directly offends the name, person, or work of God
- contradicts or undermines the basic tenets and values of evangelical, Reformed Christianity
- teaches or promotes doctrinal positions with no reasonable contextual biblical support
- uses offensive, indecent, or suggestive language
- is or could be deemed as illegal or immoral
Wahrheit & Vernunft maintains the right to refuse any manuscript that is submitted. If you have any questions about this Agreement and want to discuss it with our Founder and Principal, please call him at (346) 208-2320.
An Overview
We’re so glad you’re interested in publishing with Wahrheit & Vernunft. We have a few submission guidelines for your manuscript that will make the process easier for you and us.
- Your manuscript should be submitted as a Word document (.docx).
- Please provide the entire manuscript in one document.
- Be sure your file name clearly identifies your manuscript: LAST NAME_Full Main Title.docx.
- Set the manuscript to double line spacing and size 12 Times New Roman font.
- Beyond basic formatting instructions, do not worry about formatting your text, including page numbers. We will do that when we design and typeset your material. This should save you lots of time and frustration!
- Avoid using quotation marks for emphasis (italics are preferred).
- Avoid using bold font for emphasis (italics are preferred). Avoid ALL CAPS and underlining as well.
- If you include Scripture or other quotations, carefully check them (and their attribution) for accuracy. Before publication release, the author must have acquired all permissions for quotations beyond that allowed by individual publishing companies from which the material comes.
Please indicate the Scripture version used for every quotation by putting it in parentheses after the chapter and verse (i.e., John 1:1 ESV). You can ignore the notifications for your default version if you have identified it at the beginning of the document. Every other quotation’s version must be identified.
- At the top of your manuscript, please identify the translation you’ve used the most as your default version, then list every other translation used in your text.
- If your manuscript includes illustrations or photos, do not place the image in the manuscript. Instead, insert a bracketed note that gives the illustration number, a brief description, and a simple instruction on the desired treatment (if known) within the text. For instance:
- [Place illustration 1 here—brief description of image—full page]
- Make sure your insert notifications are numbered consecutively, and the image files are labeled accordingly: illustration 1, illustration 2, etc. Be sure to submit those image files along with your manuscript.

Submitting a proposal or manuscript to Wahrheit & Vernunft does not guarantee that we will publish it or that we have agreed to enter into an official contract with its author. If we accept a submission for publication, a formal, official contract will be drawn up between Wahrheit & Vernunft and the author. Also, we will provide a more detailed Author Guide.
